Mystery shrouds the Pyro's Mask. No one knows how he looks like or who he is. His flame thrower burns his victims and he might be one of the most dreaded character to encounter from the enemies' team. I suppose that is why my brother was so fascinated with this character from his game. He would spent hours playing as the Pyro character from the game Team Fortress 2, burning his enemies with his flame thrower. This project was done in conjunction with the Detonator as a set. Work Process Yes, I understand how it looks at first glance. Its really weird. However, without a plaster head model, this is the closest I could get for now. I do plan on getting a proper head model some time soon though. What I have done here in the photos were actually for creating templates for the head piece to fit my brother's head, since this was made for him. I wrapped the foil around his head, leaving a gap near his nose so that he could still breath. Duct tapes were then used to secure the shape. I had to remove the foil from his head quickly after all the duct tapes were down as it was actually quite uncomfortable for him. There were not any templates that I could find online that was close to a gas mask of this shape and design, so I was left with no choice but to figure things out from scratch. After tons of research and studying all available reference pictures, many trials and errors were done to get the shape of the head piece as close as possible to the in-game model. The templates were all done on cheap craft paper, and many paper models were made. There were many trimmings done to make sure that the overall shape was smooth.
The second model. Everything looked good with the second model so I proceeded on with the details. The mouth piece and other more rigid details were cut and shaped from PVC foam. After sanding and priming them smooth, they were hit with a layer of grey spray paint. The foam head piece however, was sealed with Plasti-dip before being painted with grey leather paint. Details were hand painted later on with the help of some masking tapes. #pyro #tf2 #teamfortress2 #game #replica #prop #cosplay #gasmask References

This is incredible. Definitely the best TF2 Pyro mask I have seen! I'm wondering if there's any chance at all that you still have the template you used to make this. I'm working on a Pyro cosplay and this mask is ideally what I would want to make, unfortunately I don't have much experience with eva foam yey and wouldn't know where to start to make a template for something like this from scratch. Thanks for reading, and regardless that's an amazing job you did.
